Hi!
I am a single mother. I found out I am HIV+ 13 years ago on my birthday. It has been a traumatic journey to say the least but the fact that I have the responsibility as a parent meant that I can only cry inside and never let it affect the person I care about the most.
Trying to build honest relationships hasn't worked out, so eventually I stopped trying and invested most of my time in further studies and also in developing a foundation that helps people.
A few years ago, I met someone. At first it was going very well. When I told him of my status he immediatelly consulted with his BFF, I wasn;t very amused but we continued dating with reservations. Now it is almost 5 years of going through emotional ups and downs, and he still doesn't know if he wants to be with me or not.
One thing I've come to realise is that he seems to think dating me is doing me a favour and therefore I shouldn't comment on his short comings. I even managed to forgive him from having a 'wild night' at a S-- club which he says 'but I didn't even manage to have S-- I was too drunk'.
Anyhow, I have decided that relationships will never be the way they used to be. There is 0 romance and even less consideration and respect.
Therefore, I am looking for friends within this circle of understanding and my aim is also to take every chance I have to develop professionally and suppoort my daughter to finish her education.
If any of you are employers and you need an employe with sustainable development/environment knowledge, I would be more than happy to raise my hand.
If I can help any of you with the knowledge I have, please don't hesitate to drop me a mail.
